Billy & Lottie Billy and Lottie lost both of their parents to a disease. First their mom and then Francis found them when they lost their dad and they have been friends since.

III. Summary

This story is about a boy who is trying to find his long, lost parents. Along the way, he finds two kids name Lottie and Billy, who also lost their parents to a disease. Lottie and Billy are now helping Francis to find his parents and his way home.

In the story, Francis was watching a herd of buffalo waiting for Lottie and Billy to get ready for breakfast. Lottie was watching the horse graze and Billy was making a bow and arrows he learned how to make from the Indians. A little later, they went to shoot a buffalo for food. Once Francis was about to shoot, all the buffalo started to drop. Someone else was shooting the buffalo.

After the shooting was over, the people that were shooting came out and so did Francis to meet them. The man's name was Bentley from England. That night, Bentley asked them to stay for dinner; they were having buffalo tongue. Francis said they have to move on. Lottie wanted to stay. She didn't want the tongue, but she though Bentley talked pretty. Francis had a feeling that Bentley would get into a lot of trouble.

The next night, he spotted Bentley's campsite. Francis was watching him from a bush the whole night. He then saw a shadow that should not be there and soon there was more and before you knew it, Bentley and his gang were all dead. The Indians chopped them to pieces.

Francis could not believe it, but he had to move fast before the Indians found them. He woke Billy and Lottie up and rode away. They went on for days and days and one day they met their old friend Grimes who had save them from the Comancheros, an Indian Tribe. There was a big cloud of dust coming their way and they knew it was the Indians. Grimes told them to go through a hidden passage in the mountains. Francis didn't want to go but left anyway.

Halfway to the mountain, they turned back. When they got there, all the Indians were dead and Grimes was badly hurt. After a few minutes, he couldn't handle the pain and was dead.

That night while Billy and Lottie were sleeping, Francis was sitting by the fire thinking about Grimes when all of the sudden Grimes came over and sat next to him. When Francis saw him, he jumped and knows it was a ghost. Grimes said to him "It is all right." Grimes then stood up and walked away. Francis didn't know what that meant. He told Billy and Lottie the next morning.

That day they met a man named Orson and his friends. Francis went with them until they came to an Indian village that had a funny language, but they learned some of it. The Indians told them the river they were going to go down would wreck their ships. Francis, Lottie, and Billy traveled on, passing every town asking around if they knew where the Tuckets' lived. One day, they came to a farm and Francis was home.

IV. Evaluation and Favorite Part

I liked this book because it is a cool adventure. I like how the characters are kids and can do almost anything. Even though they are kids, they know how to live on their own and hunt and look out for Indians.

My favorite part is when Francis finds his home because his dad does not recognize him at first. When he does recognize him, he cannot believe it. Lottie and Billy also get a home because they got to live with Francis' neighbor, a lady who lived over the hill from Francis' house.

War is the answer.

Iraq has the power to kill many innocent people. Iraq has always had their problems with America before, but this time it seems that they have cought the attention of the entire world. They have been under suspicion of making weapons of mass destruction for quite some time now and are currently being investigated. America has stated that they have proof that Iraq is making weapons of mass destruction and want to take immediate action. We should stop them before they gain more power.

This is not the first time that Iraq has been accused of making

weapons of mass destruction. Afew years ago the U.N. sent in inspectors to search for the weapons. After a month or so Iraq

kicked the inspectors out. The U.N. still isnt sure why they were

kicked out, maybe because they were getting too close to

uncovering Iraqs hidden weapon cache. This is one reason that

America believes that Iraq has weapons of mass destruction.

America had also stated that they have satellite pictures of

large shipment loads from multiple weapon construction sites

before the inspectors came to investigate the areas which could

mean that Iraq moved the weapons to places of hiding while the

inspectors were investigating the weapon facilities. This shows

that Iraq was trying to hide something from the inspectors, and

it seems as if when the inspectors were getting too close to the

weapons cache and that is why they were thrown out.

Iraq has also been accused of hiding Al-Qaeda members within

their country. This could mean that Iraq could be connected with

the -11 attacks on America, and if not they are giving refuge to

the terrorists that have caused great destruction on our country.

If in fact they are connected to the Al-Qaeda this would be a

definate reason for us to attack them due to their actions upon

us.Iraqs effortless help has also strained the relations with

America which makes it almost seem as if they dont care about

Americas attempts at stopping the terrorist orginization. Iraq will

not let our agents into their country to do an investigation upon

this matter which is further evidence against them. Iraq wont

even give us a simple request to hold an investigation which also

leads us to believe that they may be giving the terrorists refuge,

this alone would be grounds for an attack.

Iraqs leader Suddam Hussein has recently released new

information stating that they have destroyed 6 of their missles

which were considered weapons of mass destruction. This is

quite confusing considering Suddam Hussein has stated many

times before that Iraq contained no weapons of mass

destruction. Saddam Hussein has put himself in a Catch-,

Mr. Fleischer said. Why does he keep finding things he said he

never, ever had?1 stated Mr. Fleischer, a man of the US

senate. If Iraq had never had weapons of mass destruction then

where did the 6 missles they destoryed come from, and what

about the others they say they are going to destroy. This shows

that Iraq has been lying to the entire world and have been

cought so are now trying to play games with us. This shows

deception and that Suddam Hussein can not be trusted. This is

also a good reason why war with Iraq would be a good idea.

The main idea of this paper shows that Iraq has done many serious things which are grounds for war. Knowing now that they do have weapons of mass destruction and may have the intent of using them would be plenty reason to go to war with them. This could decide the fate of endless lives, yours, mine, and many others we may never meet due to their actions. Iraq should be stopped before they become to powerful, they should be stopped while they still can. Hopefully America and the many other countrys will fallow in the war against Iraq and these problems will be solved before they can get too far out of hand.

Mirror by Sylvia Plath is a brilliant poem created out of the complexity of the various uses of figures of speech. Through the use of metaphorical and figurative language Plath develops a poem with a literal meaning as well as a figurative one. This is a poem about the qualities and functions of a mirror, and its lack of preconceptions concerning physical appearance and a pure reflection of ones inner self.

Plath uses personification throughout this poem in order to have a mirror describe its relationship with a woman. The narrator of the poem is a mirror. The mirror tells the reader, "...I mediate on the opposite wall...I think it is a part of my heart". In this poem it is the mirror that possesses the ability to meditate, has a heart and secret reaches, all which are capabilities or characteristics of a living person. This is what personification is, the representation of an object as a person. Through this poem Plath is speaking to the reader as a mirror. This mirror possesses an innate ability to analyze a woman both physically and emotionally.

This poem has a very literal meaning dealing with the complexity of a woman who has aged physically. The mirror has reflected this woman's physical image to her for many years. She comes and goes. Each morning it is her face that replaces the darkness. It is the mirror that has watched her grow just a little bit older every day of her life and through this process the mirror has witnessed "a young girl drown" and an old woman rise. This is where Plath uses a metaphor to emphasis the mirrors point. By having the mirror express itself as a lake, "now I am a lake", the mirror is able to use a simile, "like a terrible fish", in order to express how much this woman has literally aged. The mirror had to use the metaphor "now I am a lake" to describe itself in order to become multi-dimensional. A mirror is flat, solid and solely reflective, as has already been self-described in the first nine lines of this poem. Therefore, the only image that would be able to appear in a mirror would be one that is being reflected. A fish, would not be able to literally appear in a mirror in the context that is used in this poem and this is why the mirror uses a metaphor of a lake to further describe what the woman is seeing internally as well as physically. A lake is able to be both reflective and have objects appear in it that are not just being reflected but are actually in it with the ability to rise toward [someone] day after day, like a terrible fish.

The poem also has a figurative meaning describing the inner character or soul of the woman, more than likely Plath herself. The loss of innocence comes through aging. When this woman looks at her reflection in the lake, the mirror tells us that she is "searching my reaches for what she really is". This figurative language implies a searching for the soul. The "terrible fish" is not simply the image of an aged woman but it is also representative of the woman's darker side. The line " [it] rises toward her day after day" is showing how this darker side is progressively taking control. This is very parallel with the events that were occurring in Plath's actual life at the time she wrote this poem. This is very prescient of the side of Plath that was able to take her own life.

Custom Essays on LALALA

Sylvia Plath incorporated figurative language in her poem, Mirror, in order to help create a literal and figurative meaning. Through the use of a metaphor, a simile and personification a mirror is able to describe a womans physical deterioration over time as well as the deterioration of her soul. The "terrible fish" in Plath's poem is representative of both an aged, old woman and a monster within her. Through figurative language Plath is describing her personal struggles with her own "terrible fish" or monster in this poem. She emphasizes the struggles of woman as she ages as well as the struggle against one's own personal demons.

Every year my family members usually come home together to have new year dinner. Especially last year, we celebrated for one family member (my brother) who just came to US from VN. Normally, after my fathers statement, everybody started eating, talking and giving to each other all the best wishes for new year. I sat at the corner of the table and looked at every single family face. I mutely thanked God for he has given us the strength to pass all the difficulties. I suddenly remembered the day we just came to the US. With a big family, we had a lot of things to support food, cloth, furniture, etc.. that is why we started to look for job right away. My father, the main worker in the family, found an assembly job but they paid him a little because he had no experience and he was old. Besides that, my brothers and I couldnt stay there and look. We also got some work to do even we didnt like the kind of work dish washer, toilet cleaner, waiter or whatever. At that time, work had a meaning like to survive for my family. And that word is attached with the hold life of my ancester, my father, my mother and myself.

My ancestors were the hardest workers. They were born in wartime. So they had to face with the death by guns and bullets everyday. They also had to work to support the needs in family. At that time, husbandry was the most popular work to do. They tried to reach their own land to plant but it wasnt easy as they thought. The war destroyed everything but it did not make my ancestor given up. However, for their family and their own surviving, they just kept planting and hoped for the next harvest. Their belief really helped them in work and also gave them the hope, the strength for their children in future.

Coming after my ancestor, my father was also the great worker. Since the day his children were born, he had to work harder to feed them. He could do any kind of work like dresser, waiter, wheelwright, cobbling. He usually told his children, to be a good person, you have to work and work hard. Even when we came to US, a luxurious place, he did not stop working. I usually talked to him that he was getting old, so he just stopped working and let my brothers and me support the family. But he disagreed because he wanted to model and let his children to follow that model. It was the great precept, which made me always proud of my father.

To imitate my father and to repay my moms kindness, I tried to be a hard worker and work hard as much as I could. At that time, I didnt have much experience and any chance to work in a good place, so I just tried to seek the normal works like waiter, dish washer, janitor, etc. Working in such a kind of place, I had to wake up so early in the morning. It was too cold and hard to get up at that time. Sometimes, I just wanted to stay home and sleep straight to noon but when I thought about my father, my mother and my family welfare, I got out of bed happily and went to work. My father usually told meIf you want to be a bigger person, you have to win yourself. Day after day, I got a little experience from friends, from work. Then I applied in a good company, which gave me a lot of benefits. Besides that, I decided to continue my education. And unbelievably, my study had been processing perfectly. Since then, I can imagine a good horizon waiting for me ahead.Cheap College Papers on My Family History

In conclusion, my family is a laborious working family. The reason we worked so hard was heading to a bette future. Now, I am working in a good place, and my family no longer faces as many problems, but I still remember how we passed all the difficulties, because that period is really an unforgettable page of my family history.

We, the people of Massachusetts, are in an uprising. I think that this upheaval is very necessary, and I support it to the fullest. Shay's Rebellion is a crisis that has occurred in Massachusetts that should enhance the support of the Nationalists' cause. This rebellion is the result of excessive land taxation, high legal costs, and economic depression that came after the American Revolution. As citizens of Massachusetts and America, we must think of solutions to the problems that we are facing today.

Years have passed and the American Revolutionary War is over. True enough, the war may be over but like always where one problem ends, another begins. The merchants and wealthy people who loaned money to the states now want their money back. They are forcing the bankrupt states to pass high taxes in order to collect the money to pay off the debts. Legislators here in Massachusetts have now passed the heaviest direct tax ever. The he tax has to be paid in specie, rather than paper money. Specie is far more scarce and worth much more than paper money. The insurgents are mainly poor farmers that are being threatened with loss of their property and imprisonment for debt. The rich are not affected by this tax much. They are the beneficiaries of this tax. I feel as though everyone should be treated equally. The amount of the tax should be based on how much land you own, and the legislators should accept whatever kind of money that the taxpayers have. This is only one of the injustices that people like me are being faced with. I strongly oppose the high land taxation along with the other unfairness that we are facing.

There are certain things in life that should cost very little or nothing at all. It is ridiculous when people have to pay to protect themselves. We are living in what is supposed to be a democratic republic. Legal costs are extremely expensive. We are supposed to be free and independent. It does not seem that way when we have to pay to be treated fairly and equally. We have forced courts to close, due to rejection of our petitions and public meetings. Because we are not focused as a people, we are divided. We will never again be content if we remain economically, politically, and socially divided and depressed.

Write my Essay on Shay's Rebellion for me

As a state, we are in economic depression. The citizens of Massachusetts have been hit with an incredible economic blow. We are in debt. No one group of people should have to deal with the consequences of the whole country's mistakes. The whole country made the decision; therefore, the country as a whole should endure the consequences. During the war, prices were extremely high. Prices are extremely high. Inflation has reduced our ability to buy goods. The price of a bushel of corn has risen from less than a dollar to almost eighty dollars. This is bizarre and intolerable. I will not stand for it. This is a prime example of the causes and need for this rebellion.

I would personally like to thank Mr. Daniel Shays for taking the initiative to finally speak up and protest these ludicrous punishments that the citizens of Massachusetts are being faced with. We are not responsible for this war and its effects. It seems as though the legislators would like to make the impoverished states pay off their debts. It is simply inequitable and unbearable. We will not take these harsh punishments. This was the reason for cutting all of our ties with Britain. Who would think that after declaring independence from Britain, we'd have to declare independence from America. We are demanding protective legislation, the abolition of the court of common pleas, and a radical reduction of taxes. This must be done through a cooperative effort.

All Muslim believes in the Day of the Judgment. This world as we know it will come to an end, and the dead will rise to stand for their final and fair trial. On that day, all men and women from Adam to the last person will be resurrected from the state of death for judgment. Everything we do, say, make, intend and think are accounted for and kept in accurate records. They are brought up on the Day of Judgment. One who believes in life after death is not expected to behave against the Will of Allah. He will always bear in mind that Allah is watching all his actions and the angels are recording them. People with good records will be generously rewarded and warmly welcomed to Allahs Heaven. People with bad records will be fairly punished and cast into Hell. Allah knows the real nature of Heaven and Hell only, but Allah describes them in mans familiar terms in the Quran. If some good deeds are seen not to get full appreciation and credit in this life, they will receive full compensation and be widely acknowledged on the Day of Judgement. If some people who commit sins, neglect Allah and indulge in immoral activities, seem superficially successful and prosperous in this life, absolute justice will be done to them on the Day of Judgement.

For all the good deed that we have done, Allah has created a special place in which are stored the most beautiful things from the whole universe and things we cannot even imagine of. All this is for our pleasure and enjoyment. This place is called Heaven. Allah has stored different kinds of blessings for these faithful believers. The gate of heaven is called Rizwan.

The prophet Muhammad told us that the lowest in rank among the dwellers of Paradise will have ten times the like of this world, and he or she will have whatever he or she desires and ten times like it. If you enter Paradise, you will live a long happy life without sickness, pain, sadness, or death. God has said in the Quran

"But those who believe and do deeds of righteousness, we shall soon admit to Gardens, with rivers flowing beneath, - their eternal home. Therein shall they have companions pure and holy; We shall admit them to shades, cool and ever deepening."

In Heaven, there are many different types of palaces and mansions made from pearls and diamonds and they will be so crystal clear that you can see through it. The walls will be made from bricks of gold and silver scented with fragrance. In Heaven, there will be four rivers, one of water, second of milk, third of honey, fourth of Sharab-e-Tahoor(a pure, holy liquid which is a mixture of many things). People will get the most delicious foods and whatever they wish will be presented in front of them.

Heaven will be free from any type of impurities, such as, dirt, human excretion, urine, and spit. When a person sweats and burps in Heaven it will be a cool, soothing fragrant. With every breath, the name of Allah will be taken and without even thinking Allah's name will be heard. The clothes for the people living in Heaven will not get smaller or old and they will stay fresh and they will not mature from their youth. There is no sleep because sleep is a kind of death and there is no death in Heaven. After living in Heaven for one week, they will be given permission to see Allah.

Family History

The idea of writing about some family-related memories appealed to me. I am an only child in a family with loving parents. Since I have no siblings, most of my memories involve my mother, a very important person in my life.

My childhood was filled with my mother's care, love, and attention. She always tried to give me a many-sided education. Knowing that reading wasn't quite my favorite pastime, for my eighth birthday she gave me a thick book, called "The Prince and the Peasant". We read the first chapter aloud, together. Her criticism, and intriguing intonations fascinated and interested me so much, that I gladly read the whole book. Since then, reading became one of my favorite hobbies.

My mother also supported my interest in music when I was twelve. She always was around to pay attention, and to help me learn to play the piano. At the time, my father attended the University, and it was hard for us to afford music-lessons, but my mother found ways to pay for it. She made up the grateful audience to all of my newly-learned pieces. Even if I wasn't very good at it, she always supported me, and assured me that I would succeed. She always attended concerts given for parents, at the music school, and she would always applaud me when I finished playing my piece.

Every summer, my parents and I, would go on vacation to the Carpathian Mountains in Ukraine. Since I wasn't very healthy as a child, my mother tried to help me feel better, by taking holistic medicine, such as certain herbs and mineral water. Our whole family stayed in a sanitarium. From there, we often ventured to local rivers, lakes, and mountain streams, gathering medicinal herbs, and watching the sunset. I find remembering these outings, and the nature very pleasing. The medicinal knowledge I received there about holistic medicine, often helps me find a cure when I am sick.

My mother taught me how to socialize with different people: at work, or with friends. She often told me about what she did at work, and what went on. She would tell me of dialogues that she had with her bosses, how other people conversed with their boss, and what would be the right thing to say in the situation. Still she often gives me advice on solving my problems.

Of course we did have some disagreements. I remember, when I was about fifteen, I used to love spending all my free time outside, hanging out with my friends. My mother didn't always favor that, and often we argued because she thought I didn't spend any time with her. I would often lose track of time, and sit outside with my friends until nighttime, and she would often come outside to get me. This would always upset me, and we would have a long fight about each time, it as soon as I got home. At about twenty years old, I realized how strange her character was, not able to withstand opposition. Most of our disagreements, however, occurred due to minor causes. Whenever I came home tired, from work in need of some rest, she would always urge me right away to clean up, or to go grocery shopping, telling me not to be lazy. Personally, at those times I had no will to even move, more so to go grocery shopping. Even now we often have arguments, but we settle them quickly, because we can't live very long without each other. I often let her win at arguments, knowing that she only wants what's good for me, and that she won't back down anyway.

Seven years ago, I moved to the US. The distance between us only reminds me of how much I miss being with my mother, her kindness, her care, and her support. I try to call every week, and to hear her voice. And if she's not home, then to just leave a message – to remind her that I miss her.

The Protestant Reformation

During the late 1400s, England became a country plagued by changes, both good and bad. Knights, who were once prominent in England faded away and became less popular. Soon after that, the Renaissance swept into and changed England dramatically. The Renaissance, which started in France and many other western European nations, was a time of prospering for literature, art, science and learning. At the same time the Renaissance was occurring, a religious revolution was beginning, which was known as the Protestant Reformation. The Protestant Reformation helped to influence and strengthen the Renaissance that was just arising in England. Many people became instrumental in bringing about the Protestant Reformation like John Calvin and most importantly Martin Luther.

Martin Luther and John Calvin were two of the men who wanted changes in the Roman Church. Martin Luther, who was a professor of theology at the University of Wittenberg had protested against the Roman Catholic Church priciples. As stated in the encyclopedia, on October 1, 1517, he posted on the door of the castle church at Wittenberg, his 5 theses, inviting debate on matters of practice and doctrine (Reformation, pg. 1). These 5 theses caused debate on matters of practice and doctrine. These actions were not considered a revolt against the church because Luther wanted the church to only reform. John Calvin, whom many considered to be the greatest theologian of Protestantism, also helped in the Reformation. He wrote Institutes of the Christian Religion, which was published at Basal in 156 (Reformation,

pg. ). Calvin and Luther disagreed on only one principle, the Doctrine of Predestination, which means that God choose those to be saved. The impact that Both these men had helped to begin the reformation of the church that furthered the continuance of the Renaissance.

As the Reformation continued in England, a conflict formed between the Roman Catholic Church and King Henry VIII. King Henry VIII was married to a Roman Catholic named Catherine of Aragon. She was the widow of King Henry VIIIs brother, therefore making their marriage illegal under church law, but the Pope used special papal dispensation, which means the Pope allowed the marriage to happen (Reformation, pg. 1). Since Catherine could not produce any male offspring, King Henry VIII claimed the papal dispensation went against ecclesiastical law and that the marriage was therefore invalid (Reformation, pg. 1). However, the Pope said the marriage was legal and did not annul it. At the same time this was happening, the King fell in love with a woman named Ann Boleyn and eventually married her. King Henry VIII then had the Archbishop of Canterbury announce his divorce from Catherine; thus forcing the pope to kick him out of the church In 154, King Henry VIII created the Church of England from the Act of Supremacy (Act..., pg. 1). This established a separate church from the Catholics. The Church of England continued under the reign of King Edward VI, repealing any laws the Roman Catholic Church had passed against the Church of England. Mary I tried to restore Roman Catholicism, but the people protested. Finally, under the reign of Queen Elizabeth I, Protestantism was restored, keeping the Church of England the main religion.

Overall, the Protestant Reformation contributed greatly to the continuance of, and shaping of the Renaissance. The Renaissance gave a chance for people in England to reform the

religion, mainly because many other things in England were changing also. Along with the

people wanting change many great theologians like Calvin and Luther wanted change too, and

when the church refused to change, the Protestant Reformation began.

The Tragedy of Julius Caesar

The Tragedy of Julius Caesar, written by William Shakespeare is one of the world's most famous tragic plays. There are three main characters in this play, Marcus Brutus, Julius Caesar, and Cassius. Marcus Brutus is a servant and close friend of Caesar and has a strong relationship with him. Brutus' character is very naïve, which leads to his downfall. In the Tragedy of Julius Caesar, the downfall of Brutus could have been prevented if her weren't so naïve and if he had not allowed Antony to live.

Brutus is a well-respected character in this play. From the very beginning of Caesars crowning, Brutus views Caesar as a threat not only to himself, but also towards Rome. Even though Brutus is considered a close friend to Caesar, Brutus is nobler towards the good f Rome. Brutus knows something has to be done about Caesar because a lot of damage could be done if Caesar was crowned king and given to much power.

" And therefor think him as a serpents egg which hatched would as his kind, grow

Mischievous; And kill him in the shell."

This shows Brutus' thoughts on Caesar and what will happen if he is crowned king.

Brutus wanted to kill Caesar for "the good or Rome". He organized a group of conspirators in which they plotted out a way to kill Caesar. Brutus is the leader of the conspiracy and the foundation of it.

" Judge me, you gods! Wrong mine enemies? And if not so, how should I wrong a brother?"

This statement is ironic because Brutus says that he would not betray his enemies, let alone his friend. He was naïve enough to think that he would be doing all of Rome a favor by killing Caesar, so it wouldn't become a betrayal.

The downfall of Brutus could have been prevented if he would have killed Antony along with Caesar. Brutus was naïve enough to think that Antony, who was one of Caesar's closest friends, would not try to get revenge on them for what they did. Cassius wanted to kill Antony along with Caesar because he knew that if Antony was allowed to live that something bad would become of it. But Brutus decided to give him a chance to prove that he was just. Another example of Brutus' naivete was when he allowed Antony to speak at Caesar's funeral. Once again, Cassius didn't think that this would be a good idea, but Brutus gave Antony a chance to say his final "good-byes" to Caesar. Little did Brutus know that Antony is going to take advantage of this, and plant a seed in the plebeians for revenge on the conspirators.

" If I were disposed to stir your hearts and minds to mutiny and rage, I should do Brutus and Cassius wrong, who, you all know, are honorable men."

Antonys funeral oratation caused a catastrophe for Brutus and Cassius by causing the plebeians to want revenge for the murder or Caesar. Because the plebeians wanted revenge, a huge war broke out between the armies of Brutus and Cassius and they knew that Antonys army would defeat them. The armies met at Phillipi where they started the battle. Brutus knew that their army had no chance of winning so he killed himself during the war out of honor instead of the embarrassment of being captured.

Brutus' downfall could have been prevented if he has listened to Cassius' opinions and killed Antony along with Caesar, instead of letting his tragic flaw, naivete and his harmartia get in the way. Brutus gave Antony a chance to live, being naïve enough to think that Antony would not try to get revenge in any possible way on Brutus. If only Brutus has listened to Cassius the whole time, all he conflicts and catastrophes could have been prevented.

Presentation by Yan Zhang and Yong Shen

Alcohol abuse

A friend of my friend was an alcoholic. One day, he was out of control after drinking and jumped from a six-story building. He is still alive but retarded because his head was damaged. It¡¯s a real story. This is a painful experience, not only to him, but also to the people around him. Lots of people like drinking. For those who use it responsibly, alcohol can be a part of a healthy lifestyle and can enhance the quality of life. However, the abuse of alcohol has the potential to ruin lives. It can impact human¡¯s health, cause family problems, and social problems.

Alcohol can both physically and psychologically influence a person¡¯s health; not only themselves, but also their children. Chronic alcoholism damages the brain, liver, heart and other organs. Numbers of deaths for Alcohol-related liver cirrhosis are 1178 in 18 and 1145 in 17 in the United States. In high doses, alcohol can cause loss of consciousness and even death. Drinking during pregnancy is dangerous. Alcohol can have a number of harmful effects on the baby, such as abortion, causing retardation or learning and behavioral problems. We don¡¯t know how much alcohol is required to cause these problems. However, these alcohol-related diseases are one hundred percent preventable.

Cheap custom writing service can write essays on Alcohol abuse

Alcohol can cause family problems, such as domestic violence, divorce and difficult children. People can¡¯t control themselves after they drink. Their body says ¡°no¡± but their mind says ¡°yes¡±. I saw many examples of this before. A husband argued with his wife after he got drunk. He yelled at her concerning house chores and hit her. But when he was sober, he always regretted hitting her and said ¡°sorry¡± to her. However, he repeated his silly actions again and again. His wife lost hope in him and left him finally. Drinkers focus on alcohol and pay lots of money for alcohol. They are less careful with their children, and neglect the children¡¯s emotional and physical needs. The drinker¡¯s mood obviously affects the children too. They often see and hear domestic violence and feel unhappy and scared. They are more aggressive in school and often have learning difficulties. They may have same problems when they grow up.

Many social problems are caused by alcohol; for example, drunk driving, accidents and violence. Alcohol-related traffic crash fatalities were 41.0% in all traffic crash fatalities in 10 and 0.1% in 1 in the United States. The cost in crashes, fires, criminal justice etc. caused by alcohol, was ,04 millions us dollars in 1 and 475 millions us dollars in 15 in the United States. What an incredible number! The primary reason is people can¡¯t control themselves very well after drinking. They have lower reaction time and become unconscious while driving a car or using machinery. There are more opportunities to cause accidents, such as car crashes, which cause injury and death. Drunk driving is a national problem and is prohibited by government all over the world. People are easy to get angry with other people when they are drunk. Fist they argue, then they fight each other. Drinking causes many acts of violence.

Alcohol can cause some diseases, family problems and social problems. People like drinking when they stay together, especially in festivals such as Christmas and Thanksgiving Day. Alcohol can help to increase the festival¡¯s atmosphere. People feel happier and more relaxed after drinking. Studies have shown that smaller amounts of alcohol help protect against heart disease. But if we over used or used it irresponsibly, it will ruin our lives. Keep in mind that a good thing can become a bad thing, so can alcohol.

In order to eliminate any of the plagiarism issues, it is highly recommended that you do not use it for you own writing purposes. In case you experience difficulties with writing a well structured and accurately composed paper on Alcohol abuse, we are here to assist you. In the play "Othello" by William Shakespeare, Othello had both some positive

aspects and some negative aspects about him. He falls from prosperity to suffering, but

not necessarily in a material sense. His fall was from happiness and love, to

unhappiness and distrust. He was superior over every other man as a heroic soldier and he was very well respected by everyone. Othello, a black Moor, has spent his life as a soldier and become a general in the army of Venice, Italy. He was a citizen who was respected and had a good reputation. He was a jealous man. He was jealous of Cassio, because he thought he was having an affair with his wife, Desdemona. Othello trusted Iago, an ensign to Othello. Although they were close, Othello should have been wiser. Othello's flaw was his trusting nature. He trusted Iago when he should have not, and ironically, denied his trusting nature; the one time he should allow himself to trust someone. Othello also ended up being a murderer at the end of the play due to Iago's lies.

Order custom research paper on Othello

One of Othello's positive aspects was his love for everyone especially his wife, Desdemona. Some line's from the play that help understand this love is "And till she come, as truly as to heaven / I do confess the vices of my blood, / So justly to your grave ears I'll present / How I did thrive in this fair lady's love, / And she in mine." "Come, Desdemona, I have but an hour / Of love, or worldly matter, and direction / To spend with thee. We must obey the time." He was admired by everyone in the play, even Iago comments on what a good man Othello was. The handkerchief, the most crucial object in the play, symbolized Othello's love to Desdemona, since it was his first gift to her. Othello thinks that the handkerchief shows Desdemonas love and if she was to lose it, must clearly mean that she does not love him any longer.

One of Othello's negative aspects was that of jealousy. It is the green-eyed monster, Iago tells Othello, becomes a symbol representing Othellos dark feelings, a description of what is going through his head. Iagos speech was also deeply ironic, since it points out Othellos flaws, and the roots of his tragedy. Othello had no idea of the significance of these statements, and so takes them to heart. Othello is horribly jealous of what he thinks is going on between his wife and Cassio. This poisonous feeling turns Othello into a mad man and he strikes his wife. Othello then began to say that he believes that Desdemona is cheating directly. Othello uses his black skin as a symbol for how poorly spoken and unattractive he thinks he is. Othello doubts that Desdemona could love him, because of his misunderstanding of himself as being badly dressed, poorly spoken, and old; and because he begins to believe that Desdemona cannot love him, he starts to believe that she is having an affair. My name, that was as fresh / as Dians visage, is now begrimed and black / as mine own face, Othello says. Although the things he says against Desdemona are personally hurtful to him, Iago also makes Desdemona and Cassio seem like lustful animal lovers, by describing them as prime as goats, as hot as monkeys

I think the most interesting aspect of Othello's character was the way he could suddenly change his mood, because one moment he uses perfect structured and poetic language and the next minute he is in an utter rage. It is interesting to see how one person can affect a whole group of people and the devastating consequences that can be caused verbally. Shakespeare has giving both positive and negative aspects to the character Othello, making this one of the most respected poetic stories of all time.

Please note that this sample paper on Othello is for your review only. In order to eliminate any of the plagiarism issues, it is highly recommended that you do not use it for you own writing purposes. In case you experience difficulties with writing a well structured and accurately composed paper on Othello, we are here to assist you. We are raised in a world with many diverse cultures. It's natural for us as human beings to compare things to each other, such as comparing one culture to ours. After -11 the focus on today's news is primarily on Muslim cultures, such as Afghanistan and Iraq.

Cultural relativism brings up a new way of looking at the many different cultures. It asks that we evaluate other cultures according to their standards, not ours. The Muslim culture is very different then the culture we live in. We don't have Christian suicide bombers or women covered head to toe. People should take that moment and understand it through there own eyes, not ours.

Muslim's all over the world pray to Ala. Their world revolves around Ala. They worship Ala day through night. Another cultural difference would be the way women dress. Muslim women all around the world dress covered from head to toe. There cultural difference are very different from what were used to here in United States of America, but it doesn't mean its less important.

We see groups and intelligent people make wrong decisions all the time when they are making choices that affect us. Why do they make these decisions when they are supposed to be the ones educated enough and most qualified for the position? There are a few factors that could contribute to this and one that I think is the biggest factor is bias.

Cheap custom writing service can write essays on Choose any culture and apply it to cultural relativism and ethnocenterism, & Miseducation or Bias?

When the President wants to make a decision on war or on a budget cut he is thinking about benefiting someone, weather this is the government or the people, a bias does exist. This not only applies for the President of the United States but also the President of a corporation when he needs to make some decisions. The President of the corporation will always make a decision that will benefit him and make him more money. This is a huge factor on why people in high places make bad decisions. Another factor on why some intelligent people and leaders make wrong decisions is because of miseducation.

When the people in these high positions don't put the time and effort into researching the effects of the decision they are about to make, they take a huge risk of making the wrong decision and negatively affecting a great deal of people. This is one of the mistakes I think that could be totally eliminated if we have the right people in these important positions.

Of course you can see why we see people in high places make wrong decision because of bias and greediness far more often than those who make wrong decisions because they are not educated sufficiently. There are even many examples of the people in high places that abuse their power, (Bill Gates, Martha Stewart, Leaders of Enron…) and I think there should be something to limit their power because soon someone is going to make a mistake that is going to hurt society on a large scale.

Please note that this sample paper on Choose any culture and apply it to cultural relativism and ethnocenterism, & Miseducation or Bias? is for your review only. Intro

This document is an extract from Publius, The Federalist n°6, entitled The Real Character of the Executive and written by Alexander Hamilton on March 14th 1788, one of the 85 articles of The Federalist Papers written by Alexander Hamilton, John Jay, and James Madison and published in New York newspapers. This particular one was published in the New-York Packet. I will go into this later.

Federalist = partisan of federalism, a political system defined by a union of states under a central government, contrary to the individual governments of separate states.

Context

Cheap University Papers on Essay on "Publius" - the Federalist n°69

It was not a certain thing that the Constitution devised by the 56 men of the convention would be accepted. There were many who raised arguments against the new Constitution. To counter this, Hamilton, Madison and Jay wrote The Federalist Papers and had them published in New York. From there they went out to all the colonies. They explain not only how the new government would work, but why it was necessary and how the men who wrote it arrived at the form they did. They are an important part of our history which is sadly neglected today.

The Federalist Papers were divided in 8 parts

- The Importance of the Union (1-14)

- Defects of the Articles of Confederation (15-)

- Arguments for the type of Government contained in the Constitution (-6)

- The Republican form of Government (7-51)

- The Legislative Branch (5-66)

- The Executive Branch (67-77)

- The Judicial Branch (78-8)

- Conclusions and Miscellaneous Ideas (84-85)

Consequences

-Six Acts

Lord Liverpool and his Tory government responded to the Peterloo Massace by introducing the Six Acts. When Parliament reassembled on rd November, 181, Lord Sidmouth, the government s Home Secretary, announced details of what later became known as the Six Acts. By the 0th December, 181, Parliament had debated and passed six measures that it hoped would suppress radical newspapers and meetings as well as reducing the possibility of an armed uprising.

(1) Training Prevention Act A measure which made any person attending a gathering for the purpose of training or drilling liable to arrest. People found guilty of this offence could be transportated for seven years.

() Seizure of Arms Act A measure that gave power to local magistrates to search any property or person for arms.

() Seditious Meetings Prevention Act A measure which prohibited the holding of public meetings of more than fifty people without the consent of a sheriff or magistrate.

(4) The Misdemeanours Act A measure that attempted to reduce the delay in the administration of justice.

(5) The Basphemous and Seditious Libels Act A measure which provided much stronger punishments, including banishment for publications judged to be blaspemous or sedtious.

(6) Newspaper and Stamp Duties Act A measure which subjected certain radical publications which had previously avoided stamp duty by publishing opinion and not news, to such duty.

These measures were opposed by the Whigs as being a suppression of popular rights and liberties. They warned that it was unreasonable to pass national laws to deal with problems that only existed in certain areas. The Whigs also warned that these measures would encourage radicals to become even more rebellious.

-Cato street conspiracy = plot to assassinate the government ministers

-Repeal of Corn Laws

-Reform Act in 18

more deaths, they are still legal while marijuana is not. The FDA states that use of marijuana causes long term

memory loss which is not true, it may only cause short term memory loss and that is while you are smoking. There

is also the big misconception that only hippies and dropouts smoke which could be farther from the truth. Teaches,

cops, judges, lawyers, parents, priests even presidents all admit to smoke or have smoked marijuana showing that

George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, James Monroe, Andrew Jackson, Zachary Taylor and

Franklin Pierce, as well as Ben Franklin. Father of Our Country all smoked marijuana. The government has taken

steps in the path of legalization of marijuana but only for those with medical conditions that could benefit from it

and it only legal in very few states with very strict laws surrounding it. There have been studies showing that a

person under the infulence or marijuana who is driving drives at a lower rate of speed and is more cautious of their

surroundings. A study by the FBI also states that 65-75% of criminal violence is alcohol related while no reports of

marijuana induced crimes have even been reported which shows that all of the reports done stating that marijuana

leads to crime are false. There are crimes where the criminals have been high but marijuana alone cannot make your

judgement that impaired. America spends so much money trying to rid the country of it when they know that it will

never happen. If they made it legal with an age limit it would reduce the number of deaths of gangs moving it and

drug lords would be out of a job because the government would control the trade of it. In closing please be aware

that you have a right to choose what you feel is best for you and if you feel that the laws set forth by the U.S

government for marijuana are to strict, you have a voice and your voice can be heard

Response to A Raisin in the Sun, Act II, Scene III

While reading Lorraine Hansberry's A Raisin in the Sun, I could see a definite theme of social oppression and injustice. There were underlying, subtle references to slavery throughout the whole play. I think it was really brought into view in Act II, Scene III, when Mr. Lindner comes to call, in a seemingly innocent, welcoming visit, to the new community they were about to move into. He patronizingly speaks to the family, as though they were beneath the understanding of his kind, when he says, "…there's always somebody who is out to take advantage of people who don't always understand."(1404) That would probably be him.

I believe he is implying that, because they are Negroes, and apparently not as bright as he and his fellow whites, they could not possibly comprehend the meaning of all that is going on. He is there to inform them of the rules they have to live by in the white community. He constantly refers to them as "you people", but when he speaks of the neighborhood of whites, he calls them "our people" and "our community". (1404) When he says, "our Negro families are happier when they live in their own communities"(1404), I strongly got the feeling that "our" meant, in some way, that he was inadvertently implying ownership of these people, as in slaves, and that they should be kept to living with their own kind; not to mix with their betters. Rather like the slave boss, whose job was to keep them in their place.

Beneatha brings in religion when Mr. Lindner offers the family, "a very generous offer…" for their home. Beneatha says, "Thirty pieces and not a coin less!" (1405) Religion is one of the mediating structures that keep most African-American families together in hard times, and although she seems to denounce it in Act I, I believe she still strongly believes that God is a driving factor in their lives.

Mama also makes a subtle, and rather funny, reference to slavery in Act III, when she tells the moving man that her chair, "ain't no bale of cotton…"(141) Also in this part of the play, she has decided that Walter has become man enough to head the household. In African societies, this had to be proven by rites of passage. In her eyes, he has finally proven himself to be worthy of this honor. He can finally take his place.

Off the record

I must say that I really related to this play, in a big, sympathetic way. I grew up in the South during the 50's and 60's. I came from a family that treated everyone the same; no matter what color their skin or religious beliefs. We were rather odd, I guess. I was totally appalled by the treatment of the black people then. I came from a middle-class family, and I had friends that were "Negroes". My parents didn't care, because they also had friends of every color. I went to many places that "Negroes" were not allowed to be in. It did then, and it does now, disgust me. They were not allowed to look at or speak to me, in public, because I was a young, white girl. They could be hurt because of it. They could not go into the same bathroom or drink from the same fountain. They could not attend my schools. I have seen crosses burned in friend's yards and bricks thrown through their windows. I was young and didn't understand that there is supposed to be a difference. Thank goodness, I still don't see it.

I also think that Beneatha is a terrible name for anyone, especially for a black girl. To me, it implies that she is not above anything or anyone.

Life Insurance

In the ever evolving business world there are many choices for a consumer to choose from when it comes time to consider future plans. When it comes to life insurance a customer has an abundance of plans one can select that best suits their needs and families needs. Has one grows older the choices out there seem to diminish as does the time to for decision making. It is important to address these situation early and life and have a plan for the future, whether it before saving for retirement or taking a plan out for an untimely death, it is vital to know ones options and be as best prepared as one can be.

With the ever growing expense to bury someone nowadays it is important to be prepared to lessen the burden on family members that have to not only morn ones death, but in some cases pay and arm and a leg to get one six feet under. Selling life insurance to someone today and can be very hard to decide what type a policies can fit ones needs and wants. In making a educated decision on buying a policy it is important to consider ones status in life and obligations that one might have.

When I started to research on life insurance policies I noticed that I am at a premium for companies and they are more than willing to work with me setting up a policy. I first looked into types of insurance that I would need and noticed I had an over whelming number to choose from. I looked into three different types term, whole life, and group insurance.

Cheap University Papers on Insurance Planning

I first looked at term insurance, which basically put covers one for a certain period of time. I had many choices when it came to term insurance. I could get one with a renewable that gave me an option after the term came up. I had one that could give me the same premium for a certain amount of years that appealed to me. Also, I found a policy called a conversion policies that would allow me to convert to whole life insurance with a higher premium, it would be good since I can't afford the higher premium at this point in my life.

At looking at whole life insurance I noticed that I couldn't really find a policy that could fit my current situation. I had many to choose from, but since I don't really know what kind of situation I will be in 5 years it was not to my benefit to take a plan until my future was a little more stable. I did notice it is important to start early if I wanted to take out a whole life policy, since the payments would be lower and I could receive a better premium.

The third type of life insurance I looked into was group life insurance, which can be best put as an insurance that one can get through a company they work for. The problem with this insurance is sometime the one can get a better premium with an outside agency and these plans are not as flexible as other term or whole life plans. These plans are best for certain person who is limited in what they can do and or are not able to financially make a decision at the time.

Ad it came time to decide on a plan that best suited me I brought into consideration my needs. Since, I am a full time student that still lives at home, with two working parents that both have insurance policies that still cover me till I am 5. I also, have no dependents of my own, I think it was best for me to not take a plan out at this time. But upon graduation in years it would be to my greatest benefit to begin my own insurance policy and at that time I would begin an adjustable whole life plan that can increase or decrease my coverage as my life and outcome changes.

The Museum of Science and Industry covers seven acres and occupies a number of historic buildings, it is situated in the oldest passenger railway buildings in the world, and the Museum tells the story of the history, science and industry of Manchester. There are lots of exhibitions to see which are both the good and bad points of the museum it is several museums in one and no visitor has a hope of taking it all in on one afternoon visit. Exhibitions cover steam engines, space, cotton, gas, water, electricity, computers, photography and the history of Manchester.

The most recent exhibition added to the museum is the Xperiment area. This is an interactive science gallery where you can get hands on with the exhibits, such as hoisting a car off the ground or look at the parts of a giant eyeball. Without doubt this is probably the best part of the museum, even if the interactive bits are looking a bit worn and tatty. It is obviously aimed to keep children entertained but as I don't really enjoy museums it gives you something to do.

Across the road from the Xperiment area is the Air and Space Exhibition. Inside there are a large number of aircraft on display. It highlights how Manchester was involved in the history of aviation. The aircraft are impressive but who hasn't seen a plane before, a plane is a plane, they fly around a bit and that's about it. The simulator that they have there is reasonable but not the rollercoaster ride I was hoping for but museums aren't really the place to go if you want an adrenaline rush. There is also an exhibition devoted to space exploration, personally I am quite interested in space but this exhibit was lacking and for something as important as space exploration the exhibit could have been a lot superior.

At the lower end of the site there are the Underground Manchester and Making of Manchester exhibitions. Underground Manchester takes the visitor into a history of sanitation and health. The Making of Manchester follows the development of the city which is thorough but lacks excitement and gets mind-numbing after a while. The biggest negative of the museum, as stated above, is the sheer size of it, it's far too much to cover in one day unless you're really into your science and industry. Some of the exhibits are not worth looking at so either the museum should scrap them or make them a lot smaller so not so much time is wasted on them. This would allow people to appreciate the superior parts of the museum in far greater detail and make it a much more satisfying visit. There are some positives to this museum; the main one is Xperiment area with all the interactive exhibits which not only can teach people about certain issues but makes it that little bit more attention-grabbing. Some areas of the museum are good but could be made better, especially the space exploration exhibit. In other museums, especially down in London, exhibits based around Space attract a lot of interest and can normally be the focal point of the museum but this one didn't compare to what is available elsewhere. I am convinced that if this was improved on with interactive features and a greater feel of being in Space then the museum would get a lot more business.

For a person who doesn't really enjoy museums this was no different, although some of the buildings were quite pleasing to look at it still made me bored to tears and the amount of walking was just infuriating.

The challenge of running a competitive campaign for the U.S. presidency is made easier by the existence of the political parties and other organizations. In United States there are two major parties, the Republicans and the Democrats, that compete against each other. It is often criticized that both parties are too similar and it makes no difference who's is power. Although both parties have most in common but there are indeed large philosophical differences.

"Many observers note that in recent years the Republican party has become increasingly conservative. Although there is a range of opinion within the party, Republicans generally advocate a limited role for the federal government in solving society's ills." (The League of Women Voters, 1). Republicans also support cuts in the domestic programs from social welfare to environmental protection, lower taxes and increases in spending for defense.

The Democrats are identified as the more progressive party. This is mainly due to a Democratic President Franklin Roosevelt's New Deal programs. These programs were designed to alleviate problems caused by the Great Depression. "Republicans are far more likely to say the moral climate of the country has declined, while Democrats have far more faith in the federal government's ability to solve problems. Many more Republicans see the government as a threat to their rights. And unlike Republicans, Democrats want more regulation of guns." (Adams, web).

Democrats believe in issues like pro-choice while Republicans believe in pro-life. Democrats usually support the lower or middle class people and the Republicans tend to support the higher class. Republicans also support welfare reform and believe the things you do, you are responsible for those actions. While being a Democrat means to stand up for anyone and everyone. "Nevertheless, the differences between the parties in how much the government should be involved has real policy consequences. Democrats do trust the government more than Republicans." (Adams, web).

Do my essay on Difference between Damocrats and Republicans CHEAP !

The criticism that two parties are alike is not based so much on what they believe, but on the way they act. There are some areas, like the campaign finance, where the parties look the same. Otherwise they are quite different and have different programs to help the people of United States. "Republicans have more confidence in religious institutions, the military and large corporations than Democrats do. And Republicans are more likely to say there's too much government regulation than Democrats." (Adams, web).

However, both parties work for the betterment of United States and its people. They want their country to flourish and remain as a supper power for the whole world. They work hard to maintain its integrity and self-esteem and also to take care of the people and fulfill their needs to the best possible extent. Therefore, it doesn't matter who is in charge as long as they keep caring for the country, people and their needs.
